Ahh…the infamous bucket list. For those of you who do not know what that is, The Bucket List refers to a list of things you want to do, see, or try before you kick the bucket! I am always a little over the top, you guys will come to learn that, so of course my bucket list may as well be a book! It is way too long to write out here. I just wanted to share the benefit of having one, no matter how small.
The Bucket List was a movie that came out in 2007 about a pair of “seasoned and mature” gentlemen that wanted to head out of this life with a bang. Now, I’m sure the concept existed way before the movie ever made it out but the trend of creating such a list exploded in popularity after then. My Bucket List consists of travel plans, freaky food, and experiences that I don’t get to take part in every day. For example: Hot air balloon ride, trying oysters, and visiting the Taj Mahal.
Although I have travelled a good amount in my young age, experienced a lot, and I am far from sheltered, I never made such a list before. I completed (for now) my Bucket List in 2016 and since then I have awaken the force (teehee) inside that makes people want more out of life. I hope I’m not dying anytime soon but the concept of wanting to check off a list of things to do, see, and try before I die makes me want to go out and take life by the balls right now!
I am not a complacent person by any means but knowing that there is so much left for me to live and do in this life woke me up. I stopped sleeping in late, I took care of my health again, I spent time with people that actually mattered, and I focused more on my goals than on other people’s opinions. I know it’s just writing on a paper but it can mean so much more.
If you’ve never looked into making your own personal Bucket List, I highly recommend that you give it a try! If not for anything else than just for fun or maybe an end of year goal for 2017. Happy New Year!
